India is hosting the G20 Summit this year for the very first time. And the entire country has been decked up like a bride to welcome the global leaders of the top 20 economies. The Summit has witnessed the gracious presence of several leaders, including UK Prime Minister, Rishi Sunak and his wife, Akshata Murty. And it is indeed a happy moment for Akshata as she has come back to her birthplace to represent the UK as its first lady. For those who don’t know, Akshata Murty is the daughter of Infosys founder, Nagavara Ramarao Narayan Murthy and Indian educator, Sudha Murty.

From her first step in India to the dinner party hosted at the Bharat Mandapam, the UK’s first lady, Akshata has been creating a stir on the internet with her looks. Perfectly amalgamating the blend of ethnicity with modernity, Akshata’s fashion statement for the G20 Summit is an inspiration for many. The UK’s first lady, Akshata Murty dons a multi-coloured printed dress worth Rs. 72K for the dinner party

On September 9, 2023, the President of India, Droupadi Murmu hosted a dinner party for all the world leaders at the Bharat Mandapam. The dinner was held to commemorate the G20 Summit and it was attended by the leaders, including the UK PM, Rishi Sunak and his wife, Akshata Murty. However, it was her look for the party that caught our attention. In pictures from the event, doing rounds on the internet, Akshata and her husband, Rishi looked perfect in their respective ensembles.

While Rishi Sunak opted for a black pantsuit paired with a white shirt, his wife and the first lady of the UK, Akshata looked beautiful in a vibrant dress. She donned a vibrant multi-coloured dress that included fresh colours like sky blue, coral pink and mint green. Akshata’s outfit was made from lightweight silk georgette and it featured a long tiered skirt along with a fitted waist.

Akshata’s vibrant dress was adorned with sheer sleeves and floral prints all over it. She accentuated her look with a pair of statement diamond dangling earrings, a few rings, and a golden clutch. Minimal makeup and open tresses completed her look. Undoubtedly, Akshata’s dress is the perfect fit for the festive season. And doing some research on her look, we discovered that her outfit is from the shelves of a Hong Kong-based clothing brand, Saloni, which is run by an Indian, London-based designer, Saloni Lodha. Akshata’s outfit comes with a hefty price tag of 866.17 USD, which, upon converting into Indian rupees, becomes Rs. 72,000.

Akshata Murty dons a lilac shirt dress worth Rs. 30K at the G20 Spouses programme

Before attending the dinner party at the Bharat MandaFpam, Akshata Murty had graced her presence at the G20 Spouses Programme. The feast was organised by the external affairs minister, S. Jaishankar’s wife, Kyoko Jaishankar. For the event, Akshata opted for a lilac-coloured marbling printed shirt dress which featured puff sleeves, and a matching tie belt at the waist. She accentuated her look with a pair of dainty earrings, minimal makeup, heels and open tresses. On digging deeper, we learnt that her outfit was from the shelves of the clothing brand, Manimekala and it cost Rs. 30,566.49.
