On September 19, 2023, Vijay Antony’s daughter, Meera, who was 16 years old, was found dead at their Chennai residence. The teenager was found hanging inside the house, and despite taking her to a nearby hospital, she lost her life. When the family reached the hospital, the doctors declared Meera dead. It was a heartbreaking moment for Vijay and his wife, Fathima. As per multiple reports, the couple is in absolute shock as they weren’t aware of their daughter’s suicidal thoughts.

Although the family refrained from commenting on the reason behind the teenager’s suicide, reports of mental illness are getting all the spotlight.
For the unversed, Meera was in class 12, and to see a school kid ending her life is once again a loud and clear alarm for all the parents across the world to take care of their children’s mental health. The reason why everyone was in absolute shock was because Vijay Antony is renowned for always raising his voice about mental illness and children going through suicidal thoughts. The doting mommy, Fathima has always been a constant supporter of her daughters, Meera and Lama. After her elder daughter, Meera passed away on September 19, 2023, an old post of the doting mommy started getting a lot of traction on social media. It was back in March 2023 when Fathima congratulated Meera for becoming the cultural secretary of her school, Sacred Heart School. The heartfelt note could be read as:

Tamil actor, Vijay Antony lost his father at a young age
